The Freshman Research Initiative offers first year students the opportunity to initiate and engage in authentic research experiences in chemistry, biochemistry, nanotechnology, molecular biology, physics, astronomy and computer sciences while being supported and mentored by faculty and graduate students.

Research Educators Recognized

The college's Outreach Excellence award recognizes faculty and staff whose efforts to impact the community go above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of their job. Congratulations to Dr. Greg Clark for receiving this award.

Beckman Scholarships Awarded to FRI Students

The Beckman Scholars Program provides scholarships that contribute significantly in advancing the education, research training, and personal development of select students in chemistry, biochemistry, and the biological and medical sciences. Congratulations to The 2013 Beckman Scholars: Hannah MacDonald, who is currently a mentor in the Aptamer stream, and Marco Howard, a member of the Henkelman stream.
